Wonderful Wednesday

Here we are upon another Whiney Wednesday, except this Wednesday I cannot write negative remarks about anything because a few exciting things have taken place over these past two weeks.  This Wednesday blog will be entitled Wonderful Wednesday because of the great events going on in my life right now.

My boyfriend (Adam) will now be known as my fiancé!!! Adam proposed to me on Sunday, September 4 at my church chapel in Flowood. Everyone has been asking about "the proposal" SO, I will share every detail about that special night.

Before I left for the first football weekend in Oxford (hotty toddy), my preacher from Lakeland Presbyterian text me and asked if we could go over songs to sing in church.  I said yes and we set up a time for Sunday around 7pm.  I spent that weekend in Oxford, hanging out with old friends and of course having a fabulous time! On Sunday, the tropical storm had crept its way into Mississippi, and I was going to drive through the heavy rain all the way back to Jackson.  I pondered for a while whether or not to make the trip back OR to stay another night in Oxford.  My friends all tried to convince me to stay but something kept telling me that I needed to go back.

I text my preacher and told him that I was going to be running late due to the rain.  I asked Adam to come with me to our meeting but he came up with some excuse about his Dad's RV getting stuck in the mud.  ANYWAY....I pull into Flowood and go to meet with Dr. Jussley inside the main sanctuary.  We sat down and talked for a minute about guitar lessons and the Ole Miss game, then he told me we were going to meet in the chapel (which I thought was very odd because no one really goes in there much these days).  He asked if I needed an umbrella or anything, but I absolutely didn't need one because I had been running around in the storm all day and looked a mess.  As I walked over to the chapel, I turned around and looked back at the church.  My pastor was leaning over the door watching every step I made.    I found this odd (once again) but continued to open the chapel door.

Right as I opened the door, my stomach dropped because there were rose petals lining the chapel isles along with pink roses waiting for me at the alter.  Adam was also standing at the alter with the biggest grin on his face. I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO (I thought if I put that in all caps it would add some EXCITEMENT)!!! When I walked down the isle, he said a few words then got down on one knee.  I said yes (duh?).  Then both of our families came to the chapel to take pictures.  We continued the celebration over to my house where Mom and Dad has fixed us a celebration dinner.  After dinner I began to make the long line of phone calls to tell everyone the great news.  Everything was absolutely perfect! We have already set the date for June 16, 2012.

MORE good news reached my way last week after I received an e-mail from a college saying that I was one of the six finalist the search committee decided to bring in for an interview.  This was the best news EVER because I want this job so so bad!!  I was getting really discouraged because I thought they weren't interested, but now I am extremely excited about this interview.  It is in their student events department.  So...I need everyone to pray for me!

That is all for now.  Sorry if you were looking forward to a Whiney Wednesday, but I just couldn't write negative comments today :)

Here are some pics from the engagement:
